Nutritional Counseling
Nutritional Counseling at CWC is offered by Karen Benzinger, RD, LDN, CWC Dietician
What to Expect:

Counseling sessions span approximately one hour, incorporating a
personal nutrition assessment, achievable initial and long-term goal
setting, and comprehensive wellness plans
- We will address a
wide variety of nutritional, medical, behavioral and social concerns
and begin by going over the questionnaire that you filled out prior to
your appointment.
- You are encouraged to ask any questions!

We take pride in listening to and respecting the specifics of what each
client needs and wants in order to provide the best advice.
- We
customize our approach and discussions with each individual. There are
no lists of foods to eat and/or avoid and there is not a generalized
set diet to follow.
- You will leave each session with an
action plan of reasonable steps toward achieving your specific goals
that you?ve decided collectively with the dietitian.
- We are known for being very personable, realistic and results-oriented.
CWC
Dietician Karen Benzinger is a Registered Dietician, Licensed
Dietitian/Nutritionist and an active member of the American Dietetic
Association. Karen specializes in nutrition assessment, counseling,
education, planning and support for individuals, couples, families and
teens. Karen's goal is to utilize her expertise and passion in the
field of nutritional wellness to make a positive impact on the lives of
her clients. She provides an individualized approach to address the
specific needs and request of each client. (No standard diet plan is
given).
Karen earned her Bachelor's degree in business
management from Bryant University (RI). She held a position in
corporate Human Resources prior to pursuing her true love, nutrition.
She went on to achieve a second BS in Dietetics and Nutrition from
Saint Joseph College (CT). She completed her accredited internships in
hospital, rehabilitation and community settings. Karen works with
clients who range in age from early adolescence through older adulthood
to improve and balance their overall health, wellness, energy, weight
and lifestyle management. She works predominantly with women and
families, addressing pre-pregnancy nutrition, healthy weight loss,
diabetes, insulin resistance, gastrointestinal conditions, eating
disorders, heart disease, food allergies, and balanced vegetarian /
vegan planning. Karen has presented to large and small audiences
in a variety of settings including: medical practices, fitness centers,
community organizations, corporations, schools and assisted living
facilities.
